Happy New Year from Tokyo Disneyland

That’s right, the first Disney Park is celebrating the New Year. Our friends in Tokyo Disneyland just started 2011 and soon we will too. And as our parks begin the new year, we’ll be sharing special wishes for a joyful new year from each location – ending with Disneyland Resort. Be sure and check back tonight.

Cinderella Castle Decked Out for Christmas at Tokyo Disneyland

Last week, we kicked off our “holiday” version of this series with a look at snow-covered Disneyland Paris. Today, it’s Christmas at Tokyo Disneyland and Cinderella Castle is decked out for the occasion. The special event Christmas Fantasy 2010 has a unique “White Holiday Parade” featuring Disney characters in a snowy winter wonderland as well as fireworks in Christmas colors of red and green. Take a look at a few of our favorite park images.

There’s a new parade at Tokyo Disneyland this year called Disney’s Halloween Street “Welcome to Spookyville.” And as you can see, Mickey, his friends and guests are part of the celebration. Disney Vacation Club opens Doors with Presence in Tokyo Disneyland


Hi everyone…some 7,000 miles away, our sister park Tokyo Disneyland celebrated the grand opening of its first Disney Vacation Club Model Showroom at the Ikspiari shopping and dining complex.

In the 15,000-square-foot showroom, visitors can walk through an actual model room of Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai’i. Kids can revel in the fun with a play area and other interactive zones. Here is an image from the opening ceremony.

First Disney International Sales Center Set to Open in Japan


First Disney International Sales Center

This summer, Disney Vacation Club is scheduled to open the doors of its first ever international sales preview center at Tokyo Disney Resort. The 15,000-square-foot interactive center will give guests a peek at Disney Vacation Club resort hotels as well as other vacation offerings Disney offers. Guests can see for themselves a two-bedroom model of the vacation home accommodations that DVC members and families can expect to find on the island of O’ahu at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai’i. And kids won’t be bored because Disney designed a supervised play area and interactive family discovery zone within the space. Check out this first artist rendering.

The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel

A groundbreaking ceremony for a new hotel in Tokyo Disneyland takes place. Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip & Dale appear in a safety prayer festival held at the planned construction site in front of the entrance of the park. The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is scheduled to open in 2008 and will have about 700 guest rooms (from . 40m2 to 96m2)



Character Rooms

Disney's Peter Pan Room

These rooms are the Superior Room or Superior Alcove Room type.

Disney's Alice in Wonderland Room

These rooms are the Superior Room type.

Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Room

These rooms are the Deluxe Room type. A select number of rooms are also equipped with an "alcove bed."

Disney's Cinderella Room

These rooms are the Corner Room type.



Facilities

The gorgeous and magnificent Victorian design, from an era that Walt Disney championed, is continued not only in the designs of the rooms but also throughout the lobby, restaurants, banquet rooms and gardens of the hotel.

Atrium Lobby

Stepping through the hotel's main entrance on the third floor, Guests will find themselves in a grand and spacious lobby with an atrium soaring about 30 meters overhead.
Gardens
Mickey & Friends Square
The atmosphere of the World Bazaar is continued in this garden, with Disney character topiaries giving a heart-warming welcome to Guests of the hotel.

Sherwood Garden
This Victorian-style garden of exquisite design has a pond and gazebo for a moment of relaxation.

Fantasia Court
This fantasy-filled area features Mickey as the Sorcerer's Apprentice and the water-carrying brooms from the Disney classic film Fantasia.

Alice's Garden
Alice's Garden is themed to the Disney classic film Alice in Wonderland.
Banquet Rooms
Cinderella Dream (ballroom)
This Victorian-style, large banquet room is available for parties, gatherings, seminars and other events.
Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White (small banquet rooms)
These smaller banquet rooms can be used for a variety of purposes, such as family gatherings, company meetings or as waiting rooms for events.

Themed to the Disney classic film Peter Pan, this outdoor pool is a delight for children. There's even a fountain featuring the tick-tocking crocodile from the film.

In 2011, the pool will be open from Thursday, July 7 through Wednesday, August 31.
